Of Stem Cells and Warfare From the editorial page of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune: President Bush has made his position clear when it comes to embryonic stem cell research that he will not sacrifice one life to save another. Maybe to better fight these diseases, a branch of the government needs to overstate the dangers of Alzheimer's or Parkinson's or diabetes. Then the executive branch can be fooled into declaring war against these diseases, and Congress can enact legislation to enable a draft of embryos to fight this battle.
