Flagrant Omissions Now that Tommy Thompson has resigned as secretary of Health and Human Services, has anyone in the mass media mention that he was responsible for failing to obtain sufficient flu shots? Did anyone mention that his famous recommendation to use duct tape as a defense against the anthrax mailer? Did anyone mention incoming Homeland Security Czar Bernard Kerik was in charge of Iraq security forces prior to accepting the post? That seems to be an unmitigated disaster, but the Today Show glossed it over, opting to show Kerik side by side with Rudy Guliani at the World Trade Center instead. These are just two examples of convenient omissions by the mass media where the failures of Bush proteges are glossed over. Care to mention any others?
